You'll Find it's Fine to be Alone.
This short and sweet post goes out to all you lonely hearts out there.
And lonely feet... and lonely... ears?
I don't want to discriminate, but mostly this is for hearts.
Maybe this is just me, but for most of my life I've had insecurities about being alone. Although I've gotten more comfortable with spending time with myself in recent years (an automatic side affect of living alone) I still can't help but feel anxious at the thought of asking for table for one, or making a lone visit to the movie theatre; I start to wonder to myself, don't I have friends?
This cheerful little film snippet offers a new way of looking at being a single wanderer. A collaboration between filmmaker Andrea Dorfman and songwriter Tanya Davis, It advertises loneliness not as a hardship but as a gift. After watching it numerous times, I've decided I need to start making plans to take myself out for some alone time, pity-party free. I think maybe we could all use some time with ourselves, don't you?
I hope this quirky clip brings a smile to your face on this gloomy winter's day.

Hopelessly Devoted to Rodarte
The Rodarte sisters hold a very special, warmth-filled spot in my heart. Their designs are both innovative and classically beautiful, original and yet familiar; they are perfection.
Not only do they continue to amaze me with each new collection, but their designs for Black Swan and their recent collaboration with Opening Ceremony keep me begging for more year-round.
As I (im)patiently await the Fall 2011 collection, I stumbled across this 70's inspired video featuring Elle Fanning, Rodarte's current muse. Directed by Todd Cole, this short film reminded me of how gorgeous the Spring collection really was, and I've suddenly become completely overwhelmed with anticipation for what's coming up next. EVERYTHING. IS. SO. BEAUTIFUL!
Help me contain my excitement?

Video Killed My Productivity Rate
The words "overwhelmed" don't even come close to how I feel about this coming week. Juggling an amazing internship at WORN fashion journal, working at a gourmet chocolate restaurant and trying to graduate from journalism school is really starting to have it's effects on my brain. With the daunting pile of work ahead of me for this particularly over-crammed next seven days, I find myself seeking solace; I started today with a series of random, adorable videos I'd like to share with you.
Okay but seriously, let's all get down to work now... There are only so many hours in a Sunday.
Happy homeworking!

Marry Me Miu Miu
I am a huge Miu Miu supporter. Huge might even be an understatement; colossal? Massive? Immense?
YOU GET IT.
Despite my devoted attitude to Prada's little sister, the much anticipated Spring 2011 collection left me with mixed feelings. I loved the pleated panels, the colour blocking, and the garish hollywood inspiration as much as anyone, but something wasn't quite there that I had come to depend on Miu Miu for. It just wasn't pretty enough!
Luckily, this dreamy video gave me the sigh of contentment I had been secretly wishing for. THIS is where all the pretty went!
The Powder Room by Zoe Cassavetes is the first release from Miu Miu's The Women's Tales series. Various female filmmakers from around the world will each be creating short films depicting their personal fantasies about Miu Miu garments and the women who wear them. I am ecstatic.
More please!
